Buffalo was a small pub located just down the street from Weatherpersons and Poundland on Queen’s Street, it was a popular venue for live music and general goings-out. I once spent an evening there on my 19th birthday for free and enjoyed listening to a live band. However, when I went to visit again, I found that it had been shut. Buffalo first opened in 2005 and saw the likes of Adele, Disclosure and Stormzy perform inside. The LGBTQ+ bar is going to relocate and open on the site.
The old Buffalo building is going to become the new WOW, a popular LGBTQ+ venue that features performances by drag queens. WOW also had their venue shut down, but they relocated instead, rather than Buffalo which shut down properly. The reason for the relocation was due to the boss of WOW being fined £2,000 because of loud music and singing in the early hours of the morning.
