In Children

It is no secret that music is a key feature to a child’s development in learning, but it can also help improve self-esteem and confidence when a child picks up an instrument or takes an interest in musical education.

Music has been proved to help children with

  1. Self-Esteem.
  2. Listening Skills.
  3. Mathematical Skills.
  4. Analytical Skills – Making the Brain work harder.
  5. Relieving Stress.
  6. Creativity.
  7. Helping children with learning difficulties, such as ADHD, or disabilities, such as special needs.
  8. Higher graduation rates.
  9. Language.
  10. Improved school grades.

According to the LearningLiftOff website. It is quite sad to see that all of this is taken away with a lack of funding, personally, learning how to sing professionally helped me overcome my lack of speaking skills and even with overcoming stress, so seeing it being taken away is saddening. Even as an adult, sometimes singing at random helps me calm down and even remember things better than I could verbally.

I found that, as a child, a massive interest in singing and dancing in school plays was incredibly popular in Primary School, but that suddenly dipped when reaching High School and nobody wanted to do music due to the lessons being ‘repetitive and boring’.
